On September 17–18, our master’s students Anastazja Mastylak and Maja Łaska took part in the 11th Workshop on Dating Methods in Memory of Prof. Mieczysław F. Pazdur (pol. XI Warsztaty Metod Datowania im. prof. Mieczysława F. Pazdura), held at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.
Over two days of intensive training, the two students got a closer look at radiocarbon (C-14) and luminescence dating methods and took part in laboratory sessions covering sample preparation, measurements, and mass spectrometry. The program also included hands-on sessions with OxCal for date calibration and age-depth model building, followed by a poster session that gave participants a chance to exchange experiences.
We’re delighted that our students had the chance to broaden their knowledge and see firsthand how theory translates into laboratory practice and data interpretation.
