Summer School in Cluj-Napoca (2026)

Uczestnicy szkoły letniej w trakcie zajęć dydaktycznych

On 6–10 July 2026, Karol Tylmann and our geography and geology students took part in the annual dendrogeomorphology school held in Romania. The school is slowly becoming a tradition – this was already the third edition! The event, which focuses on dendrogeomorphology and geohazards in mountain environments, is organized mainly by researchers from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Besides the organizers and the delegation from our faculty, the school was attended by students and their supervisors from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and even Serbia.

This year, the sessions took place in stunning scenery on the Danube, in the village of Coronini, near the Romanian–Serbian border. During the school, students had the opportunity to learn about the theoretical foundations of dendrogeomorphology and hazard analysis in mountain landscapes, as well as the field and laboratory methods used in these disciplines.
