Patryk Sitkiewicz has been appointed guest editor of the article collection “Restoring Coastlines: Nature-Based and Hybrid Approaches to Coastal Protection and Ecosystem Recovery”, to be published in Frontiers in Marine Science.
We warmly invite you to submit abstracts for your proposed manuscripts — the deadline is November 29, 2026. Full manuscripts will be accepted until March 19, 2027. Topics may include, among others, the restoration of beaches, dunes, and coastal vegetation; coastal zone management; monitoring the state and changes of marine and ocean coastal zones; “blue carbon”; ecosystem services; and financial and legal issues related to the management of coastal zones. The collection focuses primarily on nature-based solutions and hybrid approaches to coastal protection and the restoration of coastal ecosystems. Studies demonstrating real geomorphological and ecological effects of management actions are especially welcome.
