The results of Holocene temperature reconstructions, based on long-term research at Lake Żabińskie, were presented at the “Closer to Lakes” (pol. „Bliżej jezior”; 22.05.2026) conference organized by the IMGW-PIB (Institute of Meteorology and Water Management – National Research Institute) and the Polish Limnological Society (pol. Polskie Towarzystwo Limnologiczne). Wojciech Tylmann delivered a talk titled “Paleolimnological journey through time: how temperatures in the Masurian Lakeland changed over the last 10,000 years” (pol. „Paleolimnologiczne podróże w czasie, czyli jak zmieniała się temperatura na Mazurach w ostatnich 10 tysiącach lat”). It was an opportunity to present the research findings to a broader audience, including representatives of public administration, institutions responsible for nature conservation, and lake users.
