On May 21, our department hosted an “extra” scientific seminar – a welcome addition to our regular schedule. The guest speaker was none other than Darrell Kaufman from Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff, Arizona, USA). During his talk titled “Glacier and Climate Changes from Alaskan Proglacial Lakes,” Darrell discussed why studying climate and glacier changes in Alaska is scientifically valuable, what methods can be applied to this end, and what the latest research results reveal. The visit was made possible through the establishment of close collaboration between our department and NAU, facilitated by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
