My research interests focus on the coastal zone. I am particularly interested in geomorphological processes unfolding before our eyes, whose effects directly influence people, society and the economy. In my doctoral research, I analysed how the geological structure, morphology and sandy sediment resources of the nearshore seabed affect coastal erosion and the development of beaches and dunes. I currently develop methods for monitoring multi-kilometre stretches of coastline using multi-temporal digital elevation models, GIS analysis automation and deep learning. I also contribute to the development of the scientific foundations of Integrated Coastal Zone Management. I investigate how tourism, coastal engineering and nature-based solutions affect coastal landforms and habitats. In addition, I draw lessons for the future by studying the past preserved in sedimentary records. More about me on my personal website: LINK
