From April 27 to 30, we had the pleasure of organizing and hosting participants of a workshop held as part of the COST Action “PalaeOpen.” The workshop, titled “XRF & Biomarkers Workshop in Gdańsk,” brought together 16 participants and – as the name suggests – focused on topics related to XRF core scanning and, to a lesser extent, biomarkers.
The PalaeOpen Action is primarily concerned with developing open paleoecological databases and related resources. For this reason, the workshop centered on the integration of XRF data with the Neotoma database and the use of Tilia software for data formatting and preparation. Discussions were also held on optimal data formats and the required metadata.
After hours, we explored the Tri-City area together with participants, visiting Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot.
