We are pleased to announce that Damian Moskalewicz and Patryk Sitkiewicz have established a collaboration with Ritienne Gauci from the University of Malta (L-Università ta’ Malta). The project SHORE MALTA: A Pilot Study on Sedimentary Heritage for the Observation and Reconstruction of Embayments in Malta is funded by the SEA-EU alliance, of which the University of Gdańsk is a member.
Damian and Patryk will be responsible for identifying records of natural hazards preserved in sediments and analysing contemporary changes to the shoreline.
We look forward to exciting results and a fresh perspective on the development of Malta’s coastlines, the sedimentary record of sea-level changes, and traces of past extreme events.
