Karol Tylmann represented our Department at sedimentology workshops focused on glacial floods in the Suwalszczyzna region of Poland.
From September 1st to 5th, in the picturesque surroundings of Lake Szelment, the workshops included one day of lectures and presentations, followed by four days in the field. Organizers showcased geomorphological and sedimentological evidence of a massive subglacial reservoir outflow located in Lithuania. At the end of the last glaciation, this major glacial flood played a key role in shaping the highly diverse landscape of Suwalszczyzna.
