Kierownik Katedry
I am a physical geographer, and my primary area of interest is paleolimnology. Most of my work focuses on annually laminated lake sediments and their fascinating potential for reconstructing natural and anthropogenic environmental changes. In my research, I utilize sedimentological, geochronological, and geochemical methods.
Currently, I am involved in several projects aimed at understanding the mechanisms of varve formation in lakes, reconstructing environmental changes in northern Poland and Eastern Carpathians, as well as investigating crater lakes in Mexico and maar lakes in southern Australia.
I conduct a master’s seminar and a lecture “The Concept of Anthropocene” for students of Physical Geography with Geoinformation, as well as a workshop “Research Project Management” for PhD students of the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography.
