I am a physical geographer, and my research focuses on lake sediments and their use in multi-proxy reconstructions of environmental change. I am particularly interested in the cycling of substances and chemical elements within lake ecosystems, as well as modern methods for detecting them. Currently, my work centers on the application and development of hyperspectral imaging techniques for sediment analysis, based on materials collected in Poland, the United States, Australia, and Georgia.
As part of my teaching responsibilities, I lecture in the Geography and Physical Geography with Geoinformation programs. I teach courses such as Geophysics and Geochemistry and Data Processing, and I co-teach Summer School – Interdisciplinary Studies of Environmental Transformations and Regional Fieldwork – Uplands and Mountains.
