I am an oceanographer specializing in marine geology. Since I began my scientific career, I have been examining laminated lake sediments annually. My interests include processes that determine the formation of varves, the creation of chronology, and natural and anthropogenic environmental transformations. I am currently carrying out a research project aimed at investigating long-term interactions between fire occurrence, climate, vegetation, and human activity in order to determine the factors responsible for the occurrence of fires in northern Poland over the last 2000 years.
