I am a geophysicist with a Master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, and I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Calcutta. Before beginning my doctoral studies, I gained over four years of professional experience as a geophysicist in the energy sector, working on topics related to applied geophysics and subsurface data analysis.
My previous academic experience includes research in seismology and earthquake statistics conducted as part of my master’s thesis, as well as a research internship at the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, where I worked on Himalayan tectonics and regional seismicity. In my doctoral research, I intend to use cosmogenic nuclides found in quartz grains to reconstruct exposure and burial histories of boulders and to establish the chronology of past changes in the extent of the Scandinavian Ice Sheet.
