Fieldwork
Our field trips are a combination of engaging scientific work and good fun, offering the opportunity to visit picturesque locations both in Poland and abroad. Field research includes, among other activities, collecting lake sediment cores, material from sediment traps, glacial deposits, measuring clast orientation, and conducting measurements with a portable gamma spectrometer.
Labwork
Laboratory work includes the analysis of previously collected samples—core opening and sampling, preparation and examination of microscopic slides, determination of sediment chemical composition, radiometric dating using radioisotopes, analysis of water chemical properties, grain size analysis, heavy mineral analysis, petrographic analysis, carbonate content analysis, loss-on-ignition, and geochemical analyses using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
