Department Seminars – Dominika Łuców

On Thursday, December 18, the last scientific seminar of this year was held at our Department of Geomorphology and Quaternary Geology. Our guest was Dominika Łuców from the Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In her presentation entitled “Eutrophication of lakes: the case of biodiversity assessment and potential use of testate amoebae for environmental reconstruction in the agricultural region of Central Europe”, Dominika introduced the assumptions of her new project funded by the National Science Centre.

We learned what testate amoebae are, what makes them unique, and how they can be applied in paleolimnological analyses.

After the seminar, we went together, in quite a large group, to the Gdańsk Christmas Market.
