Some time ago, as part of our departmental scientific seminars, we had the pleasure of hosting Szymon Świątek from the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University. Szymon presented us with the results of his research, which are part of the doctoral dissertation he is preparing. In his speech entitled “Novel Methods and Techniques to Study Liquidized Sediments: An Overview, ” our guest showcased exceptionally rich achievements based on a wide range of materials and research methods used. As a result, we learned, among other things, how deformation structures are formed and what happens to individual mineral grains during deformation.
We thank Szymon for visiting us and keep our fingers crossed for his journey toward completing his PhD. After what we’ve seen, we’re sure that the defense will be just a formality.
