Once again, we had the pleasure of hosting young science enthusiasts in our department! On March 11, we welcomed students from the Third High School in Gdansk, who explored the mysteries of lake sediments and varves during a 2.5-hour class. As part of the classes “In the Micro-World of Varves – Environmental History Recorded in Lake Sediments,” prepared by Alicja Bonk, they uncovered traces of the past recorded in nature.
A new addition was the expansion of the classes to the captivating topic of pollen as a biological indicator, introduced by our expert Sambor Czerwinski. Our master’s student, Aleksandra Orlowska, also supported the workshop activities.
Thank you for visiting us and for the wonderful atmosphere! We hope to see you again!
We were so engaged in our interactions with the young people that we completely forgot to take pictures!
