On September 23-27, we had the great pleasure of hosting Professor John Smol from Queens University in Canada. During his visit, the professor gave two lectures, which, despite the seemingly unfavorable timing just before the start of the academic year, were enjoyed by a large audience.
On Monday, September 23, we were able to hear the lecture “Paleolimnology meets ornithology: Using lake and pond sediments to address key conservation issues.” On Friday, September 27, the professor gave a lecture “Lakes in the Anthropocene: Using the Past to Belter Prepare for the Future.”
Of course, in addition to the scientific aspect, the professor had a chance to explore the Tricity, especially the Main City of Gdansk with its many attractions.
Thank you and see you again!
Professor Smol visited the University of Gdansk thanks to the UG Visiting Professors program within IDUB.
